Frequently Asked Questions
Reflecting Pool
Getting started
What is Reflecting Pool?
Reflecting Pool is a free web app that helps you find the shape in shapeless data. Drop in JSON, text files, or any plain content, and Reflecting Pool uses semantic embeddings to surface relationships between pieces of your data that keyword search or manual review would miss.
What kind of data can I use it on?
Reflecting Pool accepts JSON files, plain text files, or any plain content you upload. You can mix file types in a single upload - there's no need to pre-sort or normalize your data into one format first.
What are semantic embeddings, and why does that matter?
Semantic embeddings represent the meaning of your content, not just the exact words in it. That's what lets Reflecting Pool surface relationships between pieces of data that don't share any keywords but are still related in meaning.
Setup
Do I need to install anything?
No. Reflecting Pool is a hosted web app - there's nothing to install. Go to pool.aquariumapps.io to start using it.
Do I need an account?
Reflecting Pool works through your browser at pool.aquariumapps.io. Follow the sign-up flow on the app itself to create an account and start uploading data.
Core usage
How do I use Reflecting Pool?
Upload your JSON, text files, or other plain content through the app. Reflecting Pool processes what you upload and surfaces the relationships and clusters it finds within your data.
Is there a limit on how much I can upload?
Reflecting Pool is free with no paid tiers at launch. Any usage limits are there only to keep the service running well for everyone, not to gate features behind a paid plan.
Data and storage
Where is my uploaded data stored?
Your uploads are stored on Aquarium Apps' servers, not just in your browser. This is different from some of our other tools - Reflecting Pool needs to process and retain your data on the server side to find relationships across it.
How long does my data stay stored?
Your uploaded content persists until you delete it or close your account. There's no automatic expiration.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete uploaded content or close your account at any time, which removes the data you stored with Reflecting Pool.
Privacy
Who can see my uploaded data?
Your uploaded content is stored on Aquarium Apps' servers for the purpose of processing and serving your results back to you. See the Terms of Service for how your data is handled.
Does Reflecting Pool have a dedicated privacy policy?
Not yet. Data handling for Reflecting Pool is currently documented in the Terms of Service and the general Privacy Policies hub.
